Rangefinder Rising Star of wedding photography

A couple of years ago, during my first year photographing weddings, I came across Rangefinder (A huge US wedding and portrait photography magazine and official publication of WPPI) and their annual list of 30 rising stars of wedding photography. The list, for me at least, was practically a who’s-who of awesome photographers from all over the world, many of whom’s work had inspired me to start shooting weddings in the first place. Last years list of photographers was no different – an amazing international collection of the best wedding photographers – whose work, ethos and approach I admire – inspirational stuff!

So, i was extremely honoured, humbled and surprised to be told earlier this summer I had been nominated for this years list. And now even more so, to find out that I have been chosen as one of Rangefinder magazine’s Rising Stars of Wedding Photography 2014! So without further ado I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my amazing couples for allowing me to do this crazy art/lifestyle and get to call it a job – you rule – and I am so grateful to be allowed into your lives, even if only for a day, to try capture who you are with a pair of clicking black boxes :: Thank you! (so much!) And, to all the awesome photographers who have inspired, and continue to inspire and push me, you rule.  And last, but not least – to my awesome wifey – who manages to be an amazing mum to our little pair of monkeys while I spend every weekend jetting off to weddings… High fives all round!

Oh, I suppose I should post some pictures – here’s a few recent faves from an amazing summer of weddings and travel. Once the editing queue is reduced there will be lots more to share – watch this space 🙂

Post script – Can’t believe it’s coming up for almost 10 years that i won the Rangefinder rising stars of wedding photography. It’s crazy to think of the journey i’ve been on since then – and it’s awesome i’m still looking forwards to more wedding adventures! Love this job – it’s really something else!
