There is also an ancient church located in the grounds where your ceremony can be held if you so wish.  If you are looking for a Dewsall Court Wedding Photographer get in contact and I’ll send over my brochure with more information and pricing.  I can’t wait to hear from you!I first photographed a wedding at Dewsall court in 2013 and have loved returning ever since.

My photographic approach is best described as documentary style, it means that take a natural approach – capturing the days and events as they unfold.  I take an unobtrusive approach and don’t direct the day, I document it. It’s perfect for couples that what to focus on having the best time of their lives with their family and friends, I’ll be there to capture all the emotions and moments.  At the end of 2022 I was named the Best UK Documentary Wedding Photographer and I love what I create for my couples, and look forward to capturing your wedding day.

I take a storytelling approach to my photography, and each story is unique. Take a look at my Wedding Stories and imagine what I could create for you!

Your wedding day at Dewsall Court

When getting married at Dewsall Court, you have a choice of areas that you can utilise for various parts of your day including the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening party.  Wedding Breakfast is such a strange term isn’t it?  I’ll probably refer to it as a meal from now on, I’m big on breaking wedding traditions and doing things your way!

There is the main house that dates back to the 1600s, but with all the modern touches you could desire. There are converted barns, the ancient church, and also yurts set up in the grounds. If the British weather is behaving, then there are a number of outdoor locations that can be used for your ceremony. I’m an award winning wedding photographer with many years of experience, so no matter where you choose at Dewsall Court, you can relax and know that I will be capturing your day perfectly.  Take a look through the information below and find out more about the venue and your wedding photography.

Getting ready

At Dewsall Court, many couples stay on the estate – after all you can hire it for the weekend. This means there is plenty of space for you to get ready in the morning.  Couple scan get ready together or apart. The main house is big enough not to see each other, but there is also additional accommodation ion the estate for you to use if you are more superstitious!

The Ceremony

Where will you say ‘I do’?  At Dewsall Court there are a range of options from the  picturesque church  a short walk from the main house, the ornate hand-painted Chinoiserie room within the restored main house, or then there is the perhaps the converted Wainhouse Barn or outside on in the grounds under the wooden canopy or by the lake.   The venue staff are brilliantly accommodating. You can plan for an outdoor ceremony, but should the British weather not be playing ball, you can have a back up plan of an inside room. No matter where you choose, it will be amazing.

Through the wedding ceremony I’ll be photographing, but you will not really notice I’m there. I catch all the key moments that matter such as walking down the aisle, the ring exchange, the first kiss and more. But I’ll also focus on the in between moments – the little looks, your family and friends reactions, the smiles and the tears of joy!

If confetti is a must, then the ‘throw’ can happen literally anywhere, the venue is extremely accommodating. Perhaps the main lawn, leaving the church, or as you leave the large wooden framed doorway of the barn. Again, I’ll be there to capture the moment.

Reception

So you did it, you are married! The reception is the time to greet all your guests and basically realise how awesome it is being married. On a good day, it’s great to make use of the outdoor spaces at Dewsall Court for your drinks reception (or cocktail hour).

The Wedding Meal

So much space in there! The Wainhouse can accommodate 120-170 guests which is pretty amazing! Plus somehow you feel so cozy when you’re in there! Decorate the barn however you like, add flowers, candles, bunting and even a yurt with free cider for your guests! We, as wedding photographers, will make sure all this is captured for you. This place is where the magic happens. Your guests will love it. The bar is there, the bonfire is next to the barn and you can roast your marshmallows there too! Don’t forget the super cute swing at the back – I mean, what else could you need??The Party
Couple and Group Portraits

I shoot 99% of your wedding day in a documentary style. However that’s not to say we can’t get some group shots and couples portraits if this matters to you – it’s often something mum;’s are keen on.  However, my key thing is less standing around and more spending time with your gursts. Therefore, we can discuss key group shots before the big day and on the day i’ll make sure it swift, creative and fun!  Often group shots work well after the ceremony – but not straight away. I can judge the time and vibe and when all things fall into place, we can grab those shots. It’s the same with couples portraits. we can slip away for a few moments – may be in the reception, between the courses of meals or before the evening antics begin. Again, I can judge this on the day and make sure that you get creatively awesome portraits that i know you will love.

The party

When it comes to the evening, the Wainright Barn makes a magnificent venue for your party, as do the yurts.  Whether you are having a band, DJ or both – the vibe and atmosphere are perfect. In the grounds there are fire pits and an array of ambient lighting to add the special touches to your evening.

Group and Couple Portraits

Although I shoot your wedding mainly in a documentary style, I do built in time for some group portraits and couple shots – the big thing to state is, i make it all happen quickly so you are back with your guests with drink in hand in no time.  We can discuss key group shots before the big day, and on the day it will happen swiftly and seamlessly. It keeps the parents and grandparents happy!

Similarly, I’ll judge the time on the day when we can slip away for a few moments to make some amazing creative couples portraits.  I’ll put you at ease and we can get some shots that i know you will love. You’ll be back in ands amongst your family and friends in no time.

Xime and Ryan’s Dewsall Court Wedding

Xime and Ryan’s awesome wedding weekend was a total joy to be part of from start to finish!

They had chosen the amazing Dewsall court wedding venue to get married, and they and their guests had the beautiful house and grounds to themselves for the whole weekend: An intimate civil ceremony on the Friday, with only their close family present, preceded an epic multicultural wedding party on the Saturday!

There is always something special about witnessing two families come together at a wedding, but when the families are from totally different backgrounds (Xime’s family had all flown over from Uruguay) the blending of different wedding traditions makes the day extra, extra awesome! Weaved into this rustic, english garden party wedding were, amongst other things, a first dance involving the bride and anyone who wanted to have a dance with her, and an epic cotillón (think crazy, South American street party meets masked ball) – immense!

A totally lovely weekend that I feel blessed to have been able to share and document.
