2021 what a year!

I love to reflect on all the amazing weddings I’ve been part of, but 2021 was really a year like no other…

This was the year weddings could really happen again following the Covid lockdowns and restrictions.  For some couples they had rearranged their wedding numerous times and finally, finally the moment was here. They could celebrate with all their family and friends -many whom they hadn’t seen for such a long time. Those hugs meant so much more than ever before.

It was an extraordinary year, and I had a blast!  I am so fortunate to attract the most amazing couples.  People who see a wedding as much more than just a day – it’s about the people, the connections, the love.

So what did 2021 bring? A lot less international weddings than usual due to the pandemic, but that’s not a bad thing. It was a fantastic opportunity to travel across the UK – Scotland, Northumberland, the Lake District, London, and my own home county of Yorkshire!  I shot at castles, stately homes, tipis on farms and weddings in people’s own homes. A perfect mix and what they had in common was the most amazing people. Couples who knew they wanted to celebrate with those they held close and have the best time of their loves, and that is exactly what they did!

I call this ‘Best of 2021’ but in truth it’s just a peak into my 2021 weddings, a chance to highlight some of the moments as well as my style and approach.  In truth, I have so many favourites, and it’s constantly evolving.  When I look back on weddings, New favourite photographs constantly emerge. My couples state the same. That’s another reason I love what I do. I picked up a couple of awards along the way for some of the images featured here, which is much appreciated that others in the photography industry value what I do too. What drives me though is creating images for my couples that I know they will love. This is why I do what I do!
