5 reasons why photography on your wedding morning is essential

For a more relaxed wedding day and more meaningful photography, take a look at the 5 reasons why you need to have your wedding photographer with you right from the start of your day.

Not sure why you would want your wedding photographer with you on your wedding morning? I offer all my couples unlimited coverage of their wedding day as I see this as a super important part of my job. Read on to find out why coverage of your wedding morning prep is essential.

You start feeling comfortable being photographed

On your wedding day, the best photos will happen when you start to forget the photographer is there. The wedding morning is a good chance to have a chat with your photographer and start to get used to having a camera around. I won’t lie, it can feel a little strange at first but within a really short time you will have forgotten the camera is there and will be carrying on as normal. Having your photographer around in the morning also means they get to know you, and the key people with you . After a while they’ll feel like just another of your friends helping you on your special day.

A chance to capture the special relationships

On the wedding morning you are surrounded by your key people and capturing the relationships between you is what the photography is all about. It’s a special time with you all together, and capturing the anticipation, excitement and all the chaos perfectly plays a part of telling the full story of your day. Even if the ‘wedding’ itself hasn’t started yet!

An opportunity for some relaxed natural portraits

We can capture portraits of you without the need for posing – some real moments. Maybe you are fixing your tie, or slipping on your shoes – even though when totally unposed, these images can make for amazing portraits. I’ll focus on the light, composition and moment – you just concentrate on getting ready and enjoying each moment.

Photographing the real ‘first look’

Your wedding party are the first people to see you all ready. Whether it’s a reveal to your bridesmaids/groomsmen or a parent – being able to capture the emotion on their faces when they see you ready for your wedding is priceless. This is real genuine love, and this is what wedding days are all about – *all* the love, not just the love between you and your other half (which is of course very key too, but they’ll be plenty time for that later!)

I get to know you and your inner circle – which leads to more meaningful photographs

This is really useful not just for everyone feeling relaxed around the camera, which makes for more natural shots through the day – but it also comes in useful later. When it’s time for group portraits, by knowing some key people I can make sure the shots are done quickly as I know who to look for, or who can help me look for others. This means we can get some group shots in no time at all and soon have you back chatting with all your guests.

It also means I can get to learn the different characters, personalities and relationships between you all. This helps to ensure that I know what to look out for to make much more meaningful photographs throughout the day.
