Malcesine is the most awesome lakeside village and the perfect place for a Lake Garda wedding. With its clear waters, vivid colours and the awe-inspiring Mount Baldo as it’s backdrop. On the cliff top stands Castello Scaligero, the Venetian Castle nestled into, and emerging from the rugged landscape. This is an awesome venue for a wedding, and couples can get married on the terrace overlooking the beautiful village and expansive lake below, or choose one of the ceremony rooms inside. The venue can host weddings that include 40 to 100 guests. The stunning scenery in and around the castle makes for the most amazing Malcesine Wedding Photography if you pick the right photographer of course!

Getting to the castle is a pleasant 10 minutes walk up the picturesque, narrow winding streets. However, it is worth considering this if you have elderly guests attending as you may want to book a Tuc Tuc, both stylish and nippy! Following the ceremony, you and your guests can go down to the harbour and pick from one of the many lakeside restaurants to hold your reception or head to one of the many small palaces or villas that can be reached in less than 30 minutes from Malcesine. An alternative venue worth some consideration is Palazzo dei Capitani – The Palace of the Captains, a fourteenth Century villa that overlooks Lake Garda.
When planning your Malcesine Wedding…
Malcesine (pronounced MalCHESinay – go on have a go!) is a totally amazing place to get married. However, there are some things in addition to its pronunciation that may worth considering when planning your Wedding. For example, Saturday is the market day! Up until 1pm, the village can get very busy and congested. When planning a wedding at Malcesine, other things that are worth checking out are the music events that the village hosts. From small gigs to park/ public square concerts and festivals at the Scaliger Castle, it all adds to the enchanting Malcesine atmosphere. Music festival events tend to take place in the summer months. Regular food and drink markets and the occasional vintage market through summer also add to Malcesine’s charm. In October, the International Marathon ends at Malcesine in a grand celebration! A lot of couples tend to choose to marry in April/May before the village is at it’s busiest. However, though slightly busier through the summer and autumn the atmosphere and the Italian way of life through summer is infectious!
