Pre-wedding questionnaire

Looking for a Wedding Photography Questionnaire?

If you’re not a wedding photographer, then most people find this page while searching for ideas, planning tools, or the right questions to ask a wedding photographer. So here’s something genuinely useful:

If you’re planning your day, one of the most important things to ask is this:
Will your photographer capture the real moments – the ones that actually matter to you – in an honest and authentic way?

I’m Andy Gaines – Documentary Wedding Photographer

If you’re still in the research phase or just gathering ideas, welcome!

I’m an award-winning wedding photographer, and I work with couples who want something more meaningful than a highlight reel. My work is all about capturing your day as it really felt—with all the connection, joy, emotion, and unpredictability that makes it yours.

Authentic Photography That Feels Like You

– Real moments over rehearsed ones
– Photography that reflects the atmosphere, the energy, and the people you love
– A creative, relaxed approach that lets your day unfold naturally
– Unlimited coverage and support, so nothing gets missed
– Whether you’re planning a city celebration, a countryside gathering, or a destination wedding, my job is to tell the full story – beautifully, honestly, and with intent.

What to Do Next

One Last Thought!

If you’re building your own list of questions for a photographer—great. But also ask yourself this:
Do you want someone who simply shows up, or someone who truly sees what your day is about and tells that story with care?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find what you’re looking for—and if that’s authentic, creative wedding photography with heart, you might have just found it.

Pre-Wedding Questionnaire:

Please use this form below to tell me as much about your day as you can. I realise that it might not be entirely relevant as every wedding is different but hopefully you can use it to let me know where people will be, and when, and what is happening! The more I know about the day in advance the better!

The idea is that I can have a comprehensive timeline so I can put together my own itinerary and ensure I am always in the right place at the right time and that your wedding photography coverage is totally awesome!

  • Bride/Groom Morning Prep (Person 1)

What are your plans in the morning?
  • Please include postcodes and websites if applicable and also any necessary specific directions to find you if needed!
  • Names please, and could you give the mobile number of at least one of them.
  • Groom/Bride Morning Prep (Person 2)

  • Please include postcodes and websites if applicable and also any necessary specific directions to find you if needed!
  • Names please, and could you give the mobile number of at least one of them
  • The Marriage Ceremony

  • The Reception

  • The only time I really stop working during the day is when you sit down to eat. Will you be providing a meal for me (and my 2nd photographer/videographer if applicable) at this point, or do I need to sort something out?
  • Photos

  • Please list any specific group photo lists you want here. Obviously it is your day, and I will do my best to get all the photos you want, but keep in mind that even with the best ushering in the world it can still take 4-5 minutes to find and arrange a group of people for a photo – so try keep the numbers of shots small – no more than 5 or 6 is ideal.
  • It’s often super helpful if you can nominate an usher/friend/bridesmaid etc (or 2!) to help arrange and corral the people for the above photos and to help keep things as smooth and quick as possible on the day. Ideally someone in the bride/grooms party who knows most of the key people and someone happy to shout and organise people! Often I’ll reach out to them before the wedding to say hello and make sure they’ve got a copy of a list of the images we need. If you could list the ideal candidate here and also their email/phone numbers – that would be great!
  • Anything else I might need to know – photos you specifically want? Portrait locations you would like to use? Family politics I might need to be aware of!? Anything at all…
  • Suppliers information

It is really helpful to find as much out about your suppliers as I can. Please fill in any relevant boxes and leave the ones out that don’t apply to you. If you know their instagram @ handle please include that too!
  • Please include designers, shoe makers, head dresses and anything else relevant.
  • Other info

    Last few questions!
  • If you are happy to be tagged on social media, please let me know your Instagram handle and facebook url. I’d love you to follow me on social media – https://Instagram.com/andygainesphotography https://www.facebook.com/andygainesphotography/ and there is also my personal page too, please feel free ‘add’ me as a friend.
  • This is just to stop the form being accidentally submitted when it isn’t completed yet!

Thanks so much for filling out all this information – Super excited for the big day!
