Wednesday 5th December // York, England

New to the wedding photography business?  An established photographer who wants to refresh and grow your business? Then join me for an intimate and practical day where you can find out not only how I approach my craft, but also my business. I’ll be sharing all I know and have learnt about making great images at weddings, running a successful business and having fun whilst doing it! This is a workshop for you and arming you with tangible skills, new ideas and fresh perspectives to take away and apply to your own photography and business and to take things to the next level!

Since starting my photography business in 2012 I’ve enjoyed great success both artistically and commercially. I’ve built a business that is based on shooting weddings the way I want to and working with couples who are a perfect fit for my approach and style. I’m fortunate to travel the world with my work and currently shoot about half of my weddings overseas. Along the way, I’ve picked up many international awards and recognition both for my work and also for the level of service I’ve provided my clients. In the last 3 years, my wedding photography business has turned over half a million pounds of revenue and is one that I love to run.

I’ve achieved all this by focussing on my craft *and* how I run my business – and that is what I will share with you all – to make you a better photographer and a happy and successful business owner. Over this relaxed one day workshop – i’ll take you through how i approach weddings from start to finish – from attracting booking and making happy clients (and how to get them to spend lots of money on you!) – through how I work on the day – and all other aspects of how i run my business and make it work for me. Nothing is off limits – i’ll be an open book and happy to share all i know and have learnt.

Bringing It All back Home – A Wedding Photography Workshop

Date: Wednesday 5th December 2018

Time: 9.30 – 6pm – and then drinks afterwards!

Venue: My home studio, York, England.

Who is this for?

This workshop suits both established wedding photographers who are seeking to review and improve their approach to photography and business and also those new to the industry after a real insight into the business. The workshop is small and intimate with very limited places – allowing me to shape the conversation to the interests and needs of those who are attending. You will leave with not just ideas and inspiration,  but real practical solutions that you can put into action.

Some of the topics we’ll cover:

  • Making better photos –  How I shoot – using light and composition to make award-winning images using flash and natural light
  • Business, Marketing & branding – How to book more weddings and how to charge more! Attracting the clients you want and booking the weddings you’d like (including branding, ideal clients, SEO, networking). I’ll also take you through the timesaving software and processes I‘ve developed to make things super quick and hassle (and admin!) free.
  • Mindset, Ethos & Approach – arguably the most important facet of everything we do. How to stay creative, fresh and excited about your work, your clients, your business and your life! I’ll take you through my holistic approach to my photography and how you can tie the different areas of your work and business together into one cohesive brand.
  • Moments and storytelling – how to shoot creative, powerful documentary work. From prep’ through to party – How I work, and tools, techniques and skills you can use that best capture and show the story of a wedding day.
  • Staying creative for the whole wedding day and bringing the awesome to every part of your wedding photography -whatever the weather or venue.
  • Live Shoot – making awesome portraits in any location, in any light and with no time – including working with couples and (anti)posing!

Investment: £350 – Lunch and refreshments included.
Also includes some exclusive discounts for much of the software and equipment that I use.

“Without question, it was one of the most insightful, uplifting and inspiring courses I’ve ever attended! Andy gave me honest practical advice that helped push my own business into the stratosphere! He doesn’t hold back and nothing is off limits. The day was fun, very relaxed and packed full of advice and tips from staying creative, looking for good light, working with the un-expected, post-production (and much *much* more). If you’re looking to take things to the next level this is the best investment imaginable!”

“There is something in your approach and who you are that has really knocked me over and I know from witnessing how you work and how you treat people, has changed me and what I do from now on for thebetter. Honestly, I didn’t expect to come away with something of so much value. You’ve taught me so much, even at the points where you probably didn’t even realise you were teaching.  I’m so grateful for that experience.” – Emmie Scott

“I left feeling more inspired than ever. Watching a photographer work, one whose work you have admired for a while, was something wonderful to be a part of. Andy left no stones unturned when it came to detailing how he works and how he does what he does so well.

The tips, tricks, ideas and information I have come away from this workshop with, will be incredibly useful in the future”
