I’m Andy at I’m based in York and travel all across Yorkshire and the rest of the UK to shoot weddings. Your wedding is about you celebrating with all those that you love, and I want to be around to capture it all. I am very relaxed in approach and will fit in with your day, become on of the guests, but all the time I am capturing all the moments that matter – that includes the ones you planned and the ones you didn’t (they are often the best ones!)

Documentary wedding photography – why it’s what you need for your day

Like all things in life, there are different styles and approaches to wedding photography. This can often be influenced by fashions and trends. However, my approach aims to avoid trends that can be stylised and soon become outdated. I focus on real and honest storytelling, and most of all – people! I want to capture people how you know them – the laughter, the joy, the tears -all of it! I focus on people and their personalities, though there is always time to make a few epic portraits!

I shoot 99% of your wedding day in an entirely documentary way. I aim to be unobtrusive and blend in. I don’t believe a photographer should be detracting your day and telling you to recreate scenes or make you pull awkward poses, I will capture you as you are. You can rest assured we will make the best images together.
