I had a go on it so I know. To brake you pedal backwards (well, I was impressed…). We met for some photos in York – the weather was pretty crazy – in a good way!

Geoff and Sarah get married in a couple of weeks at Bedern Hall in the centre of York. I am going to be their wedding photographer. It’s going to be good!

For the camera geeks out there I (somehow) managed to wing a 21 image Brenizer panorama and a few free-lensed shots too. See if you can spot them. For those of you to whom this means nothing, then ignore me.

Half of Sally can be seen gracing the front cover of this month’s inaugural One & Other magazine. But I figured the whole picture looked so good that it would be a shame to not share it! The guys and girls at O&O have done a stirling job on the magazine, and you can pick up a copy from loads of establishments in and around York.

Moment Junkie is a site dedicated to showcasing the best wedding photojournalism from around the world, with the emphasis on showing those ‘moments between the moments’. Those little scenes on a wedding day that might go unnoticed, but in fact often provide images that mean and say more than any amount of posing or staged scenes could. Which, I guess is why I like capturing them!

And then, when they told me that due to them both living in Russia that they would be having a trip to the venue (whilst in the UK visiting family), to do some more planning and to try out their Russian inspired wedding feast being prepared by the chef at nearby Winder Hall  (who would be doing their catering) and then asked: ‘would I like to come along, check out the venue for photographs and also to do some engagement shots’… well, I didn’t need asking twice…!

Adam and Emily’s wedding is in September… It is going to be something special.

The Sheds are a real York musical institution and since reforming for reunion tours over the last few years they have continued to sell out shows all over the country to a rabid, near cult, fan base. For this year’s annual tour they brought along my good friend Chris Helme as support.

Went for a bit of a black and white vibe with these, mainly as I have always been a huge fan of Jill Furmanovsky’s live work (it doesn’t really get much better than this shot for me…) I met her once, back in the rock’n'roll past, and even got my picture taken by her… I digress…

…oh and for the photographers out there, these were all edited entirely using VSCO film in LR

Since Ida’s birth we have always asked for donations for the SCBU instead of the usual Christmas presents etc. So with my birthday coming up next month (32 – Eeek! When did that happen?) I figured now would be as good a time as any to donate some more much needed money to them. So until the end of February I am offering the good people of the York area this awesome deal:

A mini photo shoot for you and your nearest and dearest (be that husband/wife/fiancée or your children/family/baby/pet) in or around York. The shoot will last around an hour and be nice, informal and fun! (I prefer to show your personalities rather than a stuffy studio) And you will get between 20-30 amazing, fully post-processed, hi-resolution images on disc to keep and make prints, canvases etc (plus web optimised versions for facebook too).

The usual price for family/couple shoots is £200. For this limited period I will halve the price to £100 AND give £50 of that directly to the York SCBU fund. (you are of course welcome to pay the full amount, but all extra money will still be donated)

Say hello, grab some of the mega coffee, buy a book or two and enjoy chatting to a shop owner who is passionate, enthusiastic and massively knowledgable about his craft. I guarantee you will enjoy it more than a trip to Tesco or HMV.
