| Personal | Honeymoon

Apparently, the word honeymoon comes from way back in the dark ages of time; when, to help the big old pagan marriage celebration along, all the members of the tribe/village would make and save up mead (made from honey) and then proceed to give it to the happy couple from the full moon that they got married on (‘cos that’s how they rolled) right the way through to the next moon a month later… so Honey and Moon = massive party after the wedding… At least that is what I read…

Ours didn’t involve much honey or mead, or for that matter much traditional romance (13 month old toddlers can have that effect) but it was still a magic 2 weeks of mega fun, glorious beaches, evenings and eating sand (Ida, not me). I took some photos.
